About a year ago Jennifer was staring at our lawn and thinking it wasn't looking so great. There were all sorts of non-grass things where grass should be, dandelions, clover, violets, crab grass, etc. and where there was grass it had sort of a brownish/grayish tint to it. Then just a short time later, Jennifer got an offer from one of those companies that comes and spreads crap on your lawn to make it healthier, offering 2 free treatments or something. She figured "what the heck" and called them up. They came by, did an evaluation, put on the "free" treatment (free turned out to be a relative term, but it still wasn't terribly expensive), and we ended up hiring them to come back every few months to keep applying the crap.
Anyway, the other day, Jennifer was again looking out at the lawn, and thinking how nice and green and healthy it looked. She was vaguely wondering if the treatments actually helped, or if it was just that we got more rain or something this year. So she glanced over at the neighbor's lawn and thought "hmm....sometimes the grass is greener on this side of the fence."
