the bulimic kitty routine

Every time we go to the v-e-t one of the questions they ask is "Any vomiting?"  Jennifer always responds with, "well sometimes right after eating..."  The vet always says "oh, that's not really vomiting."  Jennifer tends to disagree.  But apparently what the vet means is that if our food makes a return appearance within a certain amount of time after eating, it's okay.  But, if we got sick an hour later, that would be bad.

However, people are different.  Jennifer's been sort of off-and-on sick for about a week now.  She thought she was feeling all better, but then last night when she came home, after stopping for a drink w/some coworkers, she was feeling a little queasy.  She decided the alcohol+empty stomach was to blame, so she made some dinner.  But almost immediately after eating it, she did her own little bulimic kitty routine.  She decided to blame it on the "evil, evil beer" that she had earlier.  But we're not so sure.

And then, to make matters worse, she poured herself a soda (b/c carbonation tends to calm her stomach), went to put the glass down on the coffee table, missed the coaster, and spilled the drink all over our laptop.  Gak!  She quickly mopped up as much of the liquid as she could.  It's pretty bad when you pick up a computer and soda comes pouring out from between the keys.  It seemed mostly okay, except the trackpad now seems to believe that the left edge of the screen is actually about 4 inches to the right of where it is.  Ever the foolish optimist, Jennifer decided that this was probably just b/c the computer wasn't completely dry, and it will be fine once it is.  But we're not so sure.

It's been one of those weeks.
