will we always have paris?

posted Tuesday, 12 June 2007

We're pretty sick of hearing about Paris Hilton, but yet here we are, getting ready to feed the fire and talk about her.  The other day we heard the story about her being afraid to use the toilet while she was in jail b/c someone might take a picture of her.  LARC had a comment about this, and the article she links to made the excellent point that this is a woman who wasn't at all perturbed when a video of her having sex was making the rounds, yet she's worried about being glimpsed on the toilet?!

When Paris was first released for an "undisclosed medical problem," we read somewhere that it was that she had developed a rash (probably a reaction to wearing synthetic fabrics).  Later we heard that it was that she "couldn't eat the food."  Now it seems that it was really that she wouldn't eat the food, or drink the water, in order to avoid needing to pee.  As ditzy as she may be, she's hardly stupid enough to think she'd be able to pull that off for 43 days.  We all know that your average inmate wouldn't get early release for such behavior.  So, it's just one more example of Paris making excuses.  She can't eat, therefore can't stay in jail, b/c someone might take an embarrassing picture.  She was driving without a license b/c her manager didn't tell her it had been suspended.  She shouldn't be charged with DUI b/c she didn't hurt anyone.

And apparently the trend is spreading.  Yesterday we were told about this story.  Now, according to our source (wow, we really are starting to sound like a gossip magazine), the University was looking to get rid of the president b/c of something to do with marital infidelity and just used the DUI thing as an excuse.  We're not sure we buy that cover-up story.  If you're D'ing enough U the I that you manage to flip your car, and then don't have enough sense to stay stone cold sober for at least the next 48 hours, it would seem you have a problem.  And even though the article doesn't mention anything about breathalyzer readings or anything, we suspect that if he wasn't really drunk he'd be crying "foul!"
